Another sale? I thought we just had one with British Airways? Not long after the end of the last British Airways sale, the airline has launched another! The Luxury sale is focused on their premium cabins for destinations globally which is running until the 29 October.
We weren’t expecting the airline to launch another sale so soon. They promoted the last sale heavily and employed all the usual sale tactics which included a countdown clock to encourage people to book. Well, it worked, we booked ourselves return flights to the Middle East about an hour before the deadline!
There are some great offers in the luxury sale, especially if you are travelling as a pair. You’ll need to shop around for the best deals, and if you’re flexible on travel dates you can bag yourself a great offer. Here we talk about a good business class deal that we found in the luxury sale from London to Durban, South Africa. What is a good deal? How much should you pay for a business class seat? Read our blog here to find out.
What makes this offer special is the added bonus of including 5* accommodation at the Hilton in Durban if you book via the British Airways website.

How to Book
You can look for the best deals and book via Google Flights (read more about how that works here). Google Flights is a great tool to find the best deals as you can select your preferred date of travel and it will bring up the price, and show you how these changes depending on your date of travel. When looking for flights be sure to select “2 passengers”.
If you want to include hotel accomodation at the 5* Hilton Durban then you will need to book directly via the British Airways website. In this case, booking directly has the additional benefit!
Adding hotel to your flight
Once you’ve selected your preferred flights on the British Airways website, you will be prompted to include hotels and the 5* Hilton Durban comes recommended at the top. There are other hotels on offer on the website, but £184 for a week’s 5* accommodation for two people is a superb deal.
If you are a member of the American Express Platinum Card, you’ll automatically get Gold status with Hilton Honors. With Gold status, you’ll have the benefit of free breakfast and upgrades. Although the deal is with the basic room only, you might get upgraded to the executive floor.
BG1 tips
If you’re flexible about your travel dates, we would recommend shopping around for the best offers. Using tools like Google Flights, you’ll be able to find the best prices. Before booking, consider using the British Airways website to check if there are any hotel deals included with the flights. Doing a bit of research will help you find the best deals.
Also, if you’re not desperate to fly, don’t worry about rushing to book as we predict there will a sale again after thanksgiving in the “Black Friday” sale, or post-Christmas during the “Boxing Day” sales.
