We’re a couple with full-time jobs and a shared weakness for travel, adventure and finding a bargain. Whether we’re on a short hop to Europe or heading further east or west, we’re usually trying to travel in style without requiring a small lottery win. For us, the fun should start with the flight: getting to the airport, finding a decent lounge, settling into a lie-flat bed, and enjoying the food, wine and free-flowing champagne. We got hooked on the trappings of business class travel, then realised it doesn’t always have to break the bank.

We’re not millionaires, so we’re always trying to travel comfortably without setting fire to the bank account. Whether it’s a seat sale or a miles redemption for reward flights, we usually let our wallets decide where we’re going next rather than pretending we have a fixed masterplan.

We’re fairly intrepid travellers. We like a bit of adventure and try to work it into every trip, even when we’re on a route that’s hardly undiscovered. For us, travel is about getting stuck in, not just ticking off the sights. Climbing up, jumping off, diving in and generally saying ‘yes’ are the bits we remember.
