ANA has just kicked-off a seat sale on flights between the UK and Tokyo or Osaka for £2,300 return. While the prices aren’t exceptionally cheap – about what you’d expect to pay for a discounted BA First flight to Tokyo – ANA is a 5-star airline (according to Skytrax). Dates are available throughout the winter and into late spring. There’s currently plenty of availability.
Destinations
Return prices in business class from Birmingham (BHX):
- Tokyo – £2,296
- Osaka – £2,294
- Sapporo – £2,297
The Catch
There are 2 sectors each way on the Tokyo route and 3 on all other routes – You’ll fly Birmingham (BHX) to Dusseldorf with Lufthansa, then board an ANA 787/777 to Tokyo, and onwards from Tokyo aboard an internal ANA flight. The route doesn’t appear to be operating the new business class seats, so it’d be the older lie-flat product.
Travel Dates
2 Nov – 11 Dec 2019
28 Dec 2019 – 12 Mar 2020
14 Apr – 30 Jun 2020
The options here are huge – Go skiing in the north over the winter period, or go later in the spring to see the end of the cherry blossom. We’d avoid going after May as it can start getting really hot (and wet!)
