Flying Qatar Airways or Malaysia Airlines from Heathrow means you can begin your journey in style at the Qatar Airways Lounge Terminal 4, one of the most elegant and luxurious spaces in the airport. Opening Hours
The lounge is open from early morning until the final evening departure, aligning with Qatar Airways’ Doha-bound flights. Staff were on hand and welcoming even during the quieter morning period, keeping the experience seamless from the moment you stepped through the frosted glass doors.

Locating the lounge & reception
Reaching the lounge in Terminal 4 is straightforward. Once past security, signs guide you towards Gate 6 where the distinctive Qatar branding marks the entrance. Check-in was efficient, with a warm greeting and quick verification of boarding passes. There was no queue when we arrived, but the space can fill up before major departures. On my way out, I noticed about fifteen passengers waiting to get in. It’s something that could be frustrating if you were on a tighter schedule.

Comfort
The Qatar Airways Lounge Terminal 4 is cleverly divided into several zones, giving it an intimate feel despite its modest size. The main seating area offered deep armchairs, low tables and wide runway views. It’s ideal for travellers who like to watch aircraft movements in peace. Further in, the Martini Bar and Global Deli Buffet added a touch of buzz, while the Brasserie offered a calmer dining space with restaurant-style tables, moody lighting and a glass wine display that looked more boutique hotel than airport.

Overall, seating was comfortable and well-padded, and there’s an abundance of space between tables. Even during the busier periods, it didn’t feel cramped.

Food & Drink
Food is a major highlight here. The morning buffet included chicken sausage, turkey bacon, baked beans and potato lyonnaise, alongside lighter options such as pastries, fresh fruit and yoghurt. From the à la carte menu, the poached eggs and avocado on German rye bread stood out. It’s fresh, beautifully presented and packed with flavour. The eggs Benedict was also decent, though the muffins were slightly too firm for my liking.
Drinks were extensive: the Martini Bar served cocktails, champagne, wines and premium spirits, while coffee and tea were available from the buffet area. Everything was table-served quickly and courteously, and nothing felt rushed.

Toilets and showers
Restrooms and shower suites were located discreetly behind the Brasserie. Both were spotless, stylishly finished in marble and stocked with high-end Diptyque toiletries. The spacious showers and well-maintained facilities made for a pleasant and refreshing pre-flight experience.

WiFi, power & productivity
The lounge provided fast Wi-Fi, easily handling streaming and video calls without interruption. There were power outlets, wireless charging pads and USB ports at almost every seat, making it easy to recharge devices or get work done. If you needed a quieter spot, the back corner of the Brasserie doubled as a makeshift workspace.

Extras
The Qatar Airways Lounge Terminal 4 doesn’t just look premium—it feels it. The ambient lighting, scent and overall calmness made it a genuinely relaxing environment. Small touches, like wireless charging pads and attentive staff who remembered your drink order, added to the sense of care and consistency.
BG1 verdict
Quiet, polished and distinctly Qatar Airways in its attention to detail, this is a very luxurious lounge and easily one of the nicest at Heathrow. Compared with other premium spaces, it stands out for its calm atmosphere, elegant design and genuinely personal service. Whether you want a full meal, a pre-flight cocktail or just a moment of peace before heading to Doha, the Qatar Airways Lounge Terminal 4 delivers the perfect balance of design, comfort and hospitality that defines the airline’s reputation.
BG1 Tip: Head straight to the Brasserie for table service. The buffet area can get busier closer to boarding.
