British Airways adds Tivat and Guernsey to its Heathrow line up for summer 2026

British Airways is in expansion mode and the latest additions to the Heathrow network feel like a fun mix. Say hello to Tivat in Montenegro and Guernsey in the Channel Islands. One gives you mountain framed Adriatic views, the other gives you cliff paths, seafood and the quickest island hop you will ever take. Both give you an excuse to plan a trip.

Both routes are on sale now. Tivat launches as a summer service from Heathrow Terminal 3 on 14 May 2026. Guernsey begins year round flights from Terminal 5 on 19 April 2026. With these additions BA nudges its Heathrow short haul tally to nearly 100 destinations. Not bad for an airline that only last week reminded us that Graz is also back in play.

Neil Chernoff, British Airways Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, says customers want more choice and these two fill very different needs. Montenegro is perfect for sunshine seekers. Guernsey is perfect for anyone who hates changing planes. Both are the only direct Heathrow options.

Tivat, Montenegro

Three flights a week during summer

Tivat is one of those places that looks unreal and then you arrive and realise it is absolutely real and somehow even more attractive. Montenegro blends coastal calm with serious mountain drama. Kotor and Budva bring medieval charm, the national parks bring adventure, and the whole coastline delivers photo opportunities that practically arrange themselves.

British Airways will fly every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. It is a very weekend friendly pattern and likely to be popular given Montenegro welcomed 2.6 million visitors in 2024 with almost everyone arriving from abroad.

Guernsey, Channel Islands

Daily, year round and the only direct link from Heathrow

Guernsey is small, rugged and surprisingly packed with things to do. You can walk the twenty eight miles of cliff paths, explore Castle Cornet, visit bays that appear on postcards for a reason, and even follow the Renoir Walk where art and nature get along very nicely.

This becomes the only direct Heathrow to Guernsey service and the timings are tidy. Late morning out, early afternoon back, which works well for connections onwards to Europe and North America. It’s timed to offer convenient onward connections to many European destinations, including Rome, Madrid, and Geneva, as well as transatlantic destinations in North America, including New York, Los Angeles, and Toronto.

This feels like a smart move from BA. Montenegro is trending, Guernsey is an easy escape with strong connection potential, and both strengthen Heathrow as a premium hub. More routes mean more choice, which is very welcome for anyone who has ever tried to book an August getaway from the UK and cried into their laptop.
