Today, 15th July 2021, marks the reopening of Virgin Atlantic (and Delta) departures from London’s Heathrow Terminal 3. For Virgin Frequent flyers this means one thing: The Virgin Clubhouse is back open at Terminal 3!
The Clubhouse has been out of action since Terminal 3 was closed in April 2020. Significantly reduced passenger numbers forced Heathrow to base the few remaining flights in Terminal 2. Closing Terminal 3 reportedly helped the airport save millions. The terminal reopened on 1st June as a dedicated facility for travellers from red list countries. Terminal 3 now open to all travellers.
The Upper Class Wing has also reopened for drive through check-in. However, unlike BA’s First Wing, there’s no direct access to the lounge from The Upper Class Wing.

In their press release, Virgin offers both caution and reassurance on what to expect inside the The Clubhouse:
Whilst the Clubhouse will still offer the experience we know our customers love, the experience has been tailored to ensure their safety. In line with Covid-19 hospitality guidelines, customers will be encouraged to remain in their seated area therefore the roof terrace, seated bar stools, deli bar and the pool table cannot be used. Masks will be required on entry and when customers are moving around the space.
While travel between the USA and UK remains heavily restricted, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a transatlantic agreement to be in place by Q4. To compensate, Virgin announced loads of extra capacity will be added to its Caribbean routes. So, there’s still a chance to enjoy the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at Terminal 3, even if North America remains off the menu.
I am flying Delta business today. I can I come straight to the Virgin Upper Class Wing entrance, or do I need to go into the main part of Terminal 3 first?
Hi, you can go directly to the Virgin Upper-Class Wing with Delta Business.
