Latam VIP Lounge São Paulo Guarulhos Review

Flying through São Paulo’s busy Terminal 3 can be a test of stamina, but the Latam Lounge São Paulo Guarulhos proved to be an oasis that made the wait for a long-haul flight far more civilised. With its round-the-clock opening hours, expansive layout, and a food and drink line-up that consistently punches above its weight, this is easily one of the best lounges in Brazil.

Opening Hours

24 hours / 7 days per week

Whether arriving off a red-eye from Chile or gearing up for a midnight flight to Europe, the lounge was always open and ready.

Locating the lounge & reception

I found the lounge upstairs on the mezzanine level of Terminal 3, alongside the other premium lounges. Entry itself was simple There were 4 people staffing the reception desk, making entry quick and simple – a quick scan of the boarding pass and I was through.

Unlike some other lounges at Guarulhos, you couldn’t usually buy your way in. Access was reserved for LATAM business and premium economy passengers, frequent flyers with high-tier status, and a wide network of partner airline elites. On top of that, a sizeable list of credit cards from across South America, plus Dragon Pass, could unlock the doors.

LATAM is not part of any airline alliance since it left Oneworld in 2019, so Oneworld, SkyTeam, and Star Alliance status holders are out of luck.

Comfort

The lounge had a generous layout with zones for every mood. Dining tables clustered near the buffet, while softer seating stretched across the main hall.

There was also a proper bar area, and some outward-facing seats overlooked the busy terminal below with distant views out to the apron. Families weren’t given a separate play area, but parents seemed to favour a corner with a TV screen where kids could be distracted. Overall, the LATAM Lounge São Paulo Guarulhos balanced business-like function with a bit of comfort.

Seats, tables and sleeping areas

A dedicated sleeping section tucked away in the back proved invaluable – perfect for a nap between emails and a late-evening departure.

Food & Drink

Food was consistently the highlight. A credible hot buffet included rice, pasta, and Brazilian-inspired dishes, while the cold spread brought cheeses, ham, salads, and a decent line-up of desserts. It wasn’t Michelin-level dining, but it was more than enough to tide you over before a long flight.

Drinks leaned heavily on South American producers – a wide range of red and white wines, plus a sparkling option that was usually easy drinking if not particularly refined.

Coffee and soft drinks were self-service, while cocktails and more were flowing at the full bar. The Latam Lounge São Paulo Guarulhos never felt short on choice.

Toilets and showers

Facilities here were a clear strength. Toilets and showers were plentiful and cleaned constantly, which kept them presentable even during the evening rush before the Europe and US departures. Across several visits I never had to queue for a shower – quite something in a hub of this size.

WiFi, power & productivity

Wi-Fi performed well, with good speeds for browsing and streaming. Charging points lined the outer walls and cropped up around some shared tables, though many individual seats didn’t have sockets. At half-capacity this wasn’t an issue, but if the lounge ever filled up it could easily become frustrating. Still, I managed to work comfortably and stay connected.

Extras

One of the smarter design touches was the bar placement. On the left side as you entered, it acted like a natural divider. Social groups gravitated here, leaving the rest of the lounge quieter for those wanting to eat, nap, or catch up on work. It was a small design choice that really shaped the flow of the space.

The LATAM Lounge São Paulo Guarulhos stood out as my favourite lounge in Brazil’s busiest airport. With its strong food line-up, reliable facilities, and enough space to avoid the crush, it made layovers in São Paulo something to look forward to.
