If you’re flying through KLIA’s main terminal and want calm without the fuss, Plaza Premium First lounge at Kuala Lumpur International Airport is the quieter sibling to the larger, busier main lounge next door. It ran 24 hours, sat by Gate G2, and offered big apron views, spotless washrooms, fast Wi-Fi and one-too-many rows of green leather seats. When it’s quiet, it’s a tidy pre-flight pit stop – when it’s busy, well…

Opening Hours
Plaza Premium First lounge at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) advertised 24-hour opening for our visit.
Access could also be bought at the door or online – MYR 315.00 for a 2-hour visit.
Some cards recognised but not Priority Pass.
Locating the lounge & reception
We found Plaza Premium First lounge in the international departures area of the main terminal building near Gate G2, tucked to the right of the regular Plaza Premium Lounge. The satellite terminal and C gates were a train ride away.
Check-in was swift with a tiny slice of theatre – When we checked in for our flight, we were handed an elegant-looking entry card for the lounge.
Comfort
The Plaza Premium First lounge sat in a slim footprint behind its sibling Plaza Premium Kuala Lumpur lounge, running along the full length of windows. Daylight lifted the space; without it, the room would have felt snug. Green leather sofas and armchairs sat in tight rows to maximise the floor plan.
We waited a short while for a dining table – staff juggled it well – but as the afternoon wore on the lounge filled, groups struggled to sit together, and slow table clearing didn’t help.
Food & Drink
Buffet only at Plaza Premium First Kuala Lumpur. We arrived mid-afternoon and the spread looked light – perhaps a changeover lull. Fresh fruit landed well; hot dishes looked weary. We tried the soup and saved the rest for the flight.
The bar poured premium spirits and wine, but no champagne, which felt odd for something branded “First”. The self-pour draft machine added comedy value and an epic foam head.
As mentioned, table clearing and resetting wasn’t especially efficient during our visit. If you’re looking for a premium table dining experience then the Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounge (International) Kuala Lumpur Airport is more likely to deliver.
Toilets and showers
Washroom facilities at Plaza Premium First lounge were the quiet star: fresh, modern, and spotless. Showers worked on a first-come basis with towels and full toiletries provided, and there was no queue when we asked.
WiFi, power & productivity
Connectivity held up nicely. Wi-Fi was fast enough for streaming and video calls, and power points were easy to find at most seats. There wasn’t a quiet or private area for calls or deep work, but firing off a few emails was painless. Printing was available, but we’re not sure why anyone would need that mid-journey in an airport?
Extras
The beer robot deserved a mention. Master the tilt and you might beat the foam; fail and you’ve got five minutes of entertainment.
BG1 verdict
On balance, Plaza Premium First lounge at Kuala Lumpur Airport felt like a polished annex rather than a true first-class sanctuary. Stylish seats, big apron views, and excellent washrooms carried it; a thin buffet and lack of champagne pulled it back. Lovely when quiet – likely hectic at peaks. Perhaps the fancy name sets the wrong expectation. If you’re nearby and value calm plus showers, it did the job; if you want white-tablecloth dining, look elsewhere. You can book the lounge here.
