Air France has just announced that it will commence direct flights between London Heathrow and Nice over the summer 2022 period.
The route will be operated by a single-aisle 178-seat Airbus A320 aircraft in a 3-3 configuration. This is the most common aircraft/cabin configuration for short-haul intra-European routes and typically feature standard economy seating throughout the aircraft. Business class usually features a better meal service and the middle is sometimes left empty.
Flights run daily for 7 weeks from 9th July until 28th August 2022. Strangely, flights stop on the Sunday of the late summer bank holiday and don’t run until after the bank holiday Monday.
The flight times look pretty nice. The outbound flight departs Heathrow at 17:35 and arrives into Nice at 20:30. On the return leg, the flight departs Nice at 15:40 and arrives back at Heathrow at 16:35. Each sector is 1 hour 55 mins. Flights depart and arrive into Heathrow Terminal 3, following the move from Terminals 2 and 4.
Prices for direct Air France London to Nice flights are also looking pretty good right now. A return trip in economy is £80-120 for much of July and August. Business class seats are selling for £400-450. These prices are easy to find on Google Flights.
Triple Miles
As part of the launch promotion, Air France/KLM Flying Blue members will receive three times the usual miles for bookings made before 19/02/22.
Because of the Virgin Atlantic and Delta tie-up with Air France KLM, bookings will earn miles and tier points for the Flying Club, SkyMiles and Flying Blue loyalty programmes.
