13 hours. One tired 787.
Flew British Airways Club World from London to Kuala Lumpur in seats 6J & 6K. Nonstop was great. The seat? Not so much. Think ancient yin-yang layout: awkward, cramped, tray table tilts, screen flickers, not much storage unless you’re a yoga master. One of our screens didn’t work.

Crew were lovely, wine was flowing, and we did sleep but honestly? This cabin should’ve been retired a decade ago.

🛫 Boarding Bliss
We arrived at the gate at final call—no queue, straight through, and champagne served within a minute of sitting down. The cleanest BA cabin we’ve seen in a while made for a great first impression.

💺 Seat Picks
Rows 5 & 6 in the mini-cabin are a must for peace and privacy. With 70+ Business Class seat the other cabins were much bigger. Avoid 7A/K—blocked window.

🍽️ Food Fail
Dinner: Slow service, chewy beef, and disappointing presentation.
Breakfast: A messy setup and tasted bad—other airlines do it better.

🎥 Entertainment
The recently refurbished cabin meant great IFE with a large 18.5-inch screen, responsive controls, and a solid selection of new releases. This isn’t always the case compared to older Club Suites on aircraft like the A350s, where systems are less responsive.

Pros:
• Comfortable seats.
• Quiet mini-cabin in Rows 5-7.
• Clean cabin and upgraded IFE.

Cons:
• Slow and inconsistent service.
• Food quality and presentation fell short.
• Only 4 washrooms for 70+ business passengers.

🔑 BG1 Tip: Book Row 5 or 6 in the mini-cabin for the quietest and most private experience.

This resort is located in the Vaavu Atoll, about 90-minute speedboat ride from Male Airport. We’ll share a detailed review once our trip wraps up.

One of the highlights so far? A dusk snorkel along the channel at the edge of the resort, where we were thrilled to spot a black tip reef shark 🦈 Hoping for more encounters like this before we leave.

We’re halfway through our holiday, and while the weather has been a bit unpredictable this January 🌧️, the sun finally showed up today. Fingers crossed it sticks around…
