We’ve spotted a rare business class deal to Bali with Singapore Airlines for the first half of 2021. That might be far enough away from the current travel mayhem to make it slightly tempting for some of you. Singapore Airlines is part of Star Alliance and has a 5-star Skytrax rating. Their business product is one of the most respected in the skies. Have a read about the wonders of Bali in our destination guide for May.

Return prices in business class from Oslo
- Bali – £1,582 / €1,760
The Catch
There are two stops each way on this one. After a short flight with Lufthansa in European business class, you’ll have a layover at Frankfurt before boarding a 12-hour Singapore Airlines flight to Singapore. Once there, you have another short layover before flying onwards to Bali.
As the flight departs from our old favourite, Oslo, you’ll also have to fly yourself there to begin with. We’ve done ex-EU departures plenty of times before and don’t mind it that much.
While coronavirus remains a threat, airline lounges may be closed at airports and in-flight meal services may be reduced or removed on some routes. Check with Singapore Airlines to be sure you’re getting a Business Class deal worth having.

Where to credit the Points?
Singapore Airlines is part of Star Alliance, so we’d recommend crediting to Miles & More or KrisFlyer.
BG1 Verdict
This is a good price for Bali in business class. It works out at £47 per flying hour, which is £13 less than our price target for a 5-star airline. It’s also below our target for a 4-star carrier. Saying that, we suspect there might be more deals to come in this price bracket that have fewer sectors each way. We’ve discussed between us and decided we’re going to WAIT.
BG1 Tip
Book on an American Express Membership Rewards Gold or Platinum card to earn an additional 1,500 KrisFlyer Miles on the booking.
Take advantage of the free stopovers rule by breaking your journey at any of the transit points – Frankfurt or Singapore.
